Galleria Barbara Mahler presents:
Love at first sight One-woman show of the works of Rory Burke.
Rory Burke was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. She earned her Bachelors of Fine art in Sculpture at The Rhode Island School of Design in 1999. He lives and works s Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
Rory Burke, a young artist of promise on the international contemporary art scene, born in Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin, presents an exhibition centred on the theme of memory. A series of human profiles, characterised by an expressionist trait, containing elements that bring to mind a pre-Columbian culture, which in Burke’s intention take on the value of a sacred image of humanity’s collective memory.
The artist uses resin to give transparency to the skulls of her small male heads and to intimate, through a series of elements with a strong symbolic value, the most emotional aspect of the universal memory.
States of mind, common experiences follow one another, bringing to life a poetic fresco of man’s condition in contemporary reality.
A catalogue for this exhibition will be printed and edited by Publipaolini, with a review by Igor Zanti.
